Hi,
Could you talk about effective ways of applying information from books, videos, courses?
Given the abundance of these resources, how would a person best make use of these to create learning and transformation?
Thank you.

Michael

    Michael,
As I will say in the video the main thing is to go out there and do it. The people who wrote the books likely went out there, tried something out, failed, and kept at it. At some point they learned, or became conscious of something, cultivated a masterful skill, etc... Then they decided to write down their findings to enable others to follow.

Consider what anybody does before discovering something that is worth writing about? What are they doing? How are they spending their time? Are they worrying about what they are doing? Are they succeeding right away? What might they be looking for?

Then bring to mind a time you discovered something. What is the reality of discovering something for yourself? What were you doing on your path to discovery?

These questions might be useful to consider as you learn.

For example I taught myself how to build wordpress websites. It was a real bitch, but what did I do? I asked people, friends in the know, looked at many youtube videos, websites etc... Then I tried to DO what they were saying to do. It was a lot of mind wrenching back and forth but little by little I learned. I had to train new skills, develop new ways of thinking, and put in a lot of time and I stayed with it. This worked.

Of course the faster way is to have somebody who knows what to do right there with you to show you. This is the power of doing an apprenticeship or workshops with a teacher so they can help make correction in real time. But in either case the main thing to do is get up, get out there and kick some ass. You'll fall down but get up and go again until you have the skills you need. Enjoy the video.
