Hi Brendan,
I have a question. Can you explain Peter Ralston’s view on what TaiChi is? And how TaiChi practice can contribute to one’s life?
Or if there is a book / lecture where Peter Elaborates on it, next to the taichi video course?
(I couldn’t find any introduction text on Tai Chi at the video course page on the Chen Hsing website)Also I would like to introduce myself, my name is Walter, I live in Holland and I’ve been practicing Tai Chi and Qigong on a weekly basis since 2012 now. By Jorke van Eerten I was first introduced to Peter Ralston as one of the highest level teachers in Taichi and. Two years ago I also met and attended classes of Rob van Ham for a couple of months before lockdowns started.

Now I want to become more dedicated and integrate the arts of taichi and qigong in my life. I’m very interested to read your reply

Walter,
Nice to meet you over email, thanks for writing in. I am glad you got introduced to Peter and that you have been studying with Rob.
Yes I can explain as best I can regarding Peter's view. The way I plan to do it is with a video from my youTube channel. It will come out tomorrow (Texas time) and I'll send you a link.
Also, would you be alright if I posted this question on my website as well? This might help others who are interested and add value to my audience.
After thinking about it there is a resource from Peter that might help you out too. It's on being Double Weighted.

There are other materials here in the Deep Dive portion of Cheng Hsin. I would focus on body-being.

I also have an article that I wrote that might help, it's on relaxation, a central and powerful principle in the Cheng Hsin T'ai Chi training we do.

I hope this helps, let me know how your training goes. If you can definitely get to Texas for a martial workshop, we have one coming up this next summer. Or see when Peter is coming back to Holland.
Warmly,
Brendan
Walter,
Here is a link to the video, it will be liveFriday morning at 1030am Central time. So in about 13 hours from the time I sent this message. I hope it helps.

Also here are some things that T'ai Chi might contribute to your life.
Increased body awareness and coordination
Better balance
Ability to ground yourself and calm your mind
Reduce stress
Strengthen your legs
Increased sensitivity
